1. Overview
Content Filter conforms to the interface (IFilter) of Microsoft® Index Server (hereafter Index Server) of Microsoft® Internet Information Server (hereafter IIS) of Windows NT® 4.0 Server, and to that of Index Service of Windows® 2000 / Windows® XP Professional.
This filter is called by document search software when it creates search indexes. It extracts from DocuWorks files full-text information and document properties which document search software requires.
When you install Content Filter on servers in which document search software like Index Server and Index Service has been set up, DocuWorks files will be search targets.

2. Supported Document Search Software
The following two programs of document search software are supported.
- Index Server Ver. 1.1 / Ver. 2.0 of IIS Ver. 3.0 / Ver. 4.0 (Windows NT® 4.0 Server)

6. Notes and Restrictions
After installing Content Filter, operation of Content Filter at the time of uninstalling DocuWorks or DocuWorks-related modules is not guaranteed. Reinstall Content Filter to register deleted registries.
Creating indexes while a DocuWorks document is open will not be completed successfully. In this case, when you close the DocuWorks document, creating process will finish. For details, refer to the online reference attached to Index Server of IIS. (3396)
When applying Content Filter to DocuWorks documents containing character-recognized (OCR-processed) text information, the precision of extracted text information will depend on the result of character recognition process.
If DocuWorks or DocuWorks Viewer Light is installed in the environment where Content Filter is installed, protected documents that have a copying right and have temporarily stored an open password may become search targets.
In Index Server, when index creation has not performed since an open password was set up for the DocuWorks file, nothing will be displayed in "List of documents that are not filter processed" of Index Server Management Tool. (5217)
Some applications perform printing process in different orders from the character sequence on a display.
Text information within the DocuWorks documents converted with such applications is stored in a different order from the character sequence on a display. Therefore, the order of the text information acquired with Content Filter may become different from the character sequence on display. (5572)
Depending on the specification of application or font, characters may be printed as images. If this happens, converted DocuWorks documents have no text information, so will not be targets of text search. (6537)
