Fuji Xerox and JUSTSYSTEM Team up
to Provide Knowledge Solution

To promote a more practical knowledge-sharing environment, Fuji Xerox's DocuShare has partnered with JUSTSYSTEM Corporation's ConceptBase Search 1000 to develop a knowledge solution kit called Connection Kit DS Series II.

DocuShare allows users to share and manage scanned images converted in DocuWorks on a client Web browser. By combining DocuShare with JUSTSYSTEM's CBSearch 1000, enterprises can easily share and manage their repositories of documents on the Web, providing a more practical approach to knowledge management.

As part of its drive into document management Fuji Xerox first formed a partnership with JUSTSYSTEM Corporation when DocuWorks teamed up with JUSTSYSTEM's CBSearch 1000 in 1999. The combined solution was introduced in 300 companies (60,000 client licenses). Now both Fuji Xerox and JUSTSYSTEM are collaborating in businesses that promote knowledge management.

1. Users can link from DocuShare Web to CBSearch 1000 Web UI: allowing users to search both full text in DocuShare and concept words in CBSearch 1000, thereby giving them greater exibility using the DocuShare search engine.
2. Users can maintain security by setting DocuShare's private properties functions to secure information of disclosure of doing searches.
3. Users can search across multiple DocuShare servers from the CBSearch 1000 Web Portal rather than only from the DocuShare Windows client.
4. Users can search across records stored in repositories both within and outside the company: from other groupware repositories to RDB, Web servers and file systems linked to CBSearch 1000.

DocuShare software promotes information sharing and collaboration among communities on the Web. Users can manage a large volume of company documents smoothly from their Web browser. By simply registering as users from their client Web browser, users can control access to documents and folders. The tool is especially useful for sharing documents including reports and proposals for those working remotely on inter-departmental projects across areas including research, development, sales and planning.

• Upload documents to their Web Browser even when they are not in HTML format.
• Search and handle a large volume of information including text and user lists using CBSearch 1000 linked with DocuShare
• Register as members with a user password and ID so that only specific users are privy to specific information.
• Access a bulletin board and e-mail function to exchange information in a timely manner.

CBSearch 1000 covers English and Japanese concept word searches, and lists the results in order of their significance with the most significant hit listed first. Since CBSearch 1000 was released as a product in December 1997, it has been introduced in 1,200 companies as an indispensable tool of knowledge management in IT management. ConceptBase technologies are now being utilized for solution packages, services and consulting.
