DocuCentre 1010 VS/ 1010 V

Fuji Xerox has launched the DocuCentre 1010 VS/1010 V, high-speed digital multifunction devices. Like their predecessors the DocuCentre 1010 S/1010, both models have lickety split copy speeds of up to 101 ppm (A4 long-edge feed) and incorporate standard copy functions. Sales begin on February 21, 2002.

• Network scanner^* : The DocuCentre 1010 VS has a TWAIN-compatible color network scanner as standard. The scanned files can be stored in 300 mailboxes on the machine, transferred via FTP to the server, and sent as an e-mail attachment to PCs. For large data files, the user can send the file's URL to view the document on the client's Web browser.

• 30GB hard disk space, copy server: With a 30GB hard disk drive, the DocuCentre 1010 VS can store up to 3,000 pages, which can be easily printed out from the display panel on the machine. Each copying job can be stored with its parameters in a folder on the hard drive, making it useful for the production of manuals. Users can set a password for each folder to protect the document's security. They can also send data to other DocuCentre VS machines on the network for simultaneous printing, or access the shared folders for distribution on the network via FTP.
• Multiple copying function: With the DocuCentre 1010 VS, a user can set multiple copying jobs, with various parameters such as reduction/enlargement and simplex/duplex, then start copying. This eliminates the need for the user to make adjustments for each copy separately, thereby increasing the productivity of large jobs.
• Interpose copies: The machines can handle various print needs including the insertion of color sheets as covers or dividers as well as thick paper via the manual feed tray on the DocuCentre 1010 VS. (The interpose function is optional to the finisher, which is optional to the printer)
• Scan while copying: The DocuCentre 1010 VS can scan up to 10 copying jobs while copying, which can increase operator's productivity.
• Total throughput from copying to finishing: Optional stapler finisher/finisher has two trays of 1,500 sheets each.
• Annotation function: Page numbers, date and stamps can be added as an overlay when copying. Also, a watermark can be added on each page of the document for security copying. (Annotation function is not available for the DocuCentre 1010 V)

• Network printer: The DocuCentre 1010 VS can be upgraded to a high speed network printer at 101 ppm. With 100 BASE-TX and 10BASE-T-5 network interface board, the user can access TCP/IP, NetBEUI (SMB), IPX/SPX (NetWare), IPP multiprotocols.
• CPU and hard disk: Incorporates a PowerPC 603e 300 MHz in its CPU and 128 MB memory for achieving high print speeds. The user can increase print productivity with a 5GB hard disk to use as an electronic sorter, combined with the offset catch tray (optional) and the stapler finisher (optional).
• PostScript^® 3^TM* and HP-GL/2 for a multi-client environment: Adobe PostScript^® 3^TM that can be used in Windows^®, Macintosh^® and UNIX environments. The machines can also print CAD data.
