DocuCentre 707/607/507 Series Wins
The Energy Conservation Prize

February 1, 2002

Fuji Xerox's DocuCentre 707/607/507 high-speed digital multifunction series received The Energy Conservation Prize for the third consecutive year at The Energy Conservation Prize Awards held on January 25 at The Energy Conservation Center, Japan. All 12 models in the series received the "Chairman Prize" in the energy conservation machines and systems category.

Machines that previously received the Energy Conservation Prize include the DocuColor 1250 series in 2000 and the DocuPrint C2220 in 2001.

The DocuCentre 707/607/507 high-speed digital multifunction printer with a Roller-in-Roller in its fusing unit, has a warm up time of 1/6 of its predecessor at 30 seconds. The machines with 50 ppm and 60 ppm (A4 long-edge feed) have cut energy consumption by 65 percent to 80Wh/h compared to their predecessors (DocuCentre 705/605/505 Series), and the 70 ppm model has cut energy consumption by 53 percent to achieve 125Wh/h.

The previous series adopted a thick heat roller in its fusing unit to apply the necessary pressure and heat simultaneously so the toner could effectively adhere to the paper. However, the thick roller took a longer time to heat up and used more energy from the standby mode to full operation.

The DocuCentre 707/607/507 series resolves these issues by adopting a newly developed thin roller inside the heat roller (Roller-in-Roller) that can provide ample pressure and heat when printing and at the same time minimize energy use. The technology ensures that the paper passes through wrinkle free for high image quality.

The DocuCentre 707/607/507 series complies with the Green Purchasing Law, as well as the International Energy Star Program.
