Tokyo, Japan May 22, 2002 - The Board of Directors of Fuji
Xerox Co., Ltd. (headquarters: 2-17-22 Akasaka, Minato-ku Tokyo, president:
Masamoto Sakamoto, capital: 20 billion yen) will appoint Toshio Arima,
currently president of Xerox International Partners, as president and
will re-appoint Yotaro Kobayashi as chairman. In a related matter, Akira
Miyahara, currently vice chairman, and Masamoto Sakamoto, currently president,
will retire from their respective positions and become executive advisers
to the board.
These appointments, along with other executive personnel
matters, are scheduled to be officially approved at the board of directors'
meeting directly following the annual shareholders' meeting on June 26,
2002.
