Fuji Xerox Launches DocuWide 5070 Series

Fuji Xerox has introduced the DocuWide 5070 Series printer/plotter that is designed primarily for use in the engineering field. The DocuWide 5070 series comprises three models: the DocuWide 5070MF digital multifunction device with copy machine, scanner and plotter, the DocuWide 5070EC digital copy machine, and the DocuWide 5070 stand-alone plotter. Sales begin October 31.

The DocuWide 5070 series provides a solution for users who work with various-sized documents including CAD drawings. Using Fuji Xerox's document handling software DocuWorks as well as scanning software DW-Scan 2 Service with the DocuWide 5070MF or DocuWide 5070EC (requires optional scanning function), users can manage their drawings in an electronic database to increase their document management efficiency.

• The machines can be stacked or separated. Users can configure the machines so the scanner is on top of the printer or so the printer and the scanner are separated. The series adopts a universal design that allows easy access for all users.
• Fine print quality at 600 x 1,200 dpi (600 x 600 actual dpi). The series adopts 6.4 micron toner to produce fine lines and solid black.
• Continuous copy/plot speeds-A1: 7 ppm, A2 (long-edge feed): 12 ppm, A3 (long-edge feed): 16 ppm, and A4 (long-edge feed): 20 ppm
• Users can choose to make prints from three different models depending on paper handling system: 2-roll model, 4-roll model or 2-roll/2 tray model. MSI (Multi Sheet Inserter) in which users can set 100 A4 or A3 sheets can be incorporated in each model as an option. Also, A1 sheet or smaller can be fed manually one at a time.
• Various output devices: Paper folder for folding documents into A4 for storage, Z folder, 10-bin stacker and electronic stamper.
• Complies with the International Energy Star Program. Also received Eco Mark Certification from the Japan Environmental Association.

• Easy-to-use large control panel
• Background suppression: Suppresses background of colored paper/original to white, and leaves text darker on a lighter colored background.
• Electronic Sorter: Users can set subsequent document to be sorted while the machine is executing a sorting job.
• Optional copy functions: Sample copy function and a function to change the feature for each additional copy without having to re-input the original data.

• Scanner function (optional): Scans roll-paper documents (maximum size: 914mm x 15m) at 120mm per second. "Low-speed mode" (60mm per second) selectable for scanning roll-paper documents or for users who are not familiar with the machine.
• Adopts "On the Fly" data transmission: Allows fast data transmission by sending data as soon as it is scanned.

• Incorporates a high-speed controller to speed up data processing.
• Users can monitor the controller setting and job status from their Web browser.
