Fuji Xerox has launched the DocuPrint CG835, a color laser printer
that prints at 8 ppm in color and 35 ppm in monochrome (A4 long-edge
feed). The printer is PostScript®3TM compatible and equipped with a variety
of print functions. Sales begin in November 2002.
The DocuPrint CG835 is equipped with a print server dedicated for desktop
publishing (DTP). With its advanced color matching function and attractive
pricing, Fuji Xerox aims to promote the use of the printer in design,
advertising and printing companies.
-
Uses Fuji Xerox's unique wax toner (oil-less fusing technology)
to minimize glossiness, while making it easy for the user to annotate
the document with a pen or self-adhesive notes.
-
The printer helps eliminate errors before the file is sent to the
print process through its warning system, highlighting overprint
areas, alerting the user if the image data is in RGB, rather than
CMYK, which is necessary for printing, and indicating where lines
are too thin to show up in printing.
-
The print server is equipped with a high speed Celeron 1.2GHz processor
and 1,024 MB of memory so it can quickly process heavy data up to
a few hundred mega-bytes with speedy printout from the first sheet.
Moreover, RIP* data is stored
on the hard disk, allowing fast reprints without the need for an
applications or a PC.
-
Accommodates standard paper sizes from B5 to A3, with the ability
to also print larger size pages set with A3 crop marks. With the
Intermediate Belt Transfer, the machine can accept multiple paper
stock, including postcards, thick paper, coated and matt-finished
paper, black & white OHP sheets and envelopes.
-
With the optional automatic duplex printing function, the DocuPrint
CG835 can handle a wide range of paper thickness up to 210g/m2.
The printer has a paper capacity of 250 sheets in the standard tray
and an additional 150 sheets in the manual feed tray. A two-tray
optional module can also added, which accommodate 500 sheets each
for a maximum capacity of 1,400 sheets in four different paper sizes.
-
Compatible with multiple platforms, including Macintosh®,
Windows® and UNIX Workstation as the interface supports
10 Base-T/100 Base-TX (AppleTalk®, NetBEUI, TCP/IP
and NetWare (IPX/SPX)).
RIP: Raster Image Processor is hardware or combination
of hardware/software that converts images from Vector form (e.g. text
in a particular font such as PostScript® files) into
rasterized (printable) form.
