Fuji Xerox Launches DocuCentre 402/352 Series

Fuji Xerox has introduced six digital multifunction models in the DocuCentre series, the DocuCentre 402/402CF/402FS that print at 40 ppm and the DocuCentre 352/352CF/352FS that print at 35 ppm. Sales begin on November 14, 2002.

The DocuCentre 402/352 series incorporates an efficient energy-saving design that meet the International Energy Star Program standards. The copy machine models (DocuCentre 402/352) achieve power consumption of less than 1W in sleep mode, and improved energy consumption of 33Wh/h -- improved from 120Wh/h over its predecessors, the DocuCentre 401/351. Machine warm-up time is a quick 15 seconds, realized through new and unique fusing and temperature control technology.

• High fax transmission speed of 2 seconds and high resolution of 600dpi: Compatible with V.34 modem and JBIG compression. High scanning speed of 56 sheets per minute.

• Productivity improved through simultaneous processing: Incorporates a fax reservation function as standard, where users can designate a fax transmission job while the machine is printing a received fax or a copy.

• Mailbox Receive: Can store received documents in Mailboxes (memory) prepared for each sender and print out documents when designated by users from the Control Panel.

• Internet FAX (Optional printer function required): Can attach scanned documents and fax-received documents directly (i.e. without printing them out) to outbound e-mail to Internet-compatible facsimiles and PCs.

• High-powered MPC8240 processor: Incorporates high-powered MPC8240 processor, PowerPC^TM 603e (200MHz), and applies CPU programs from SDRAM, which realizes the high printing speed of up to 40 ppm.

• Compatible with multiple OSs and protocols: Supports a wide variety of protocols (TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, EtherTalk^®, SMB, DHCP, Salutation, IPP etc) on Windows^® 95/98/Me, Windows NT^®4.0, Windows^® 2000/XP, and Mac^® OS (with the optional PostScript^®).

• Enhanced functions for printing control and security: Printer function can be limited to users registered in the main unit and printer driver. Optional Security Print function allows printing of documents when users enter their user ID and password into the printer.

• E-mail function: Automatically converts scanned documents to TIFF, PDF or DocuWorks to be sent to designated destinations by e-mails.

• Network scanner: Incorporates A3-capable scanner that can capture images into TWAIN-compatible applications (e.g. DocuWorks) on PCs via the network. Scans at 56 sheets per minute at a selectable resolution of 200 dpi, 300 dpi, 400 dpi, and 600 dpi.

• CentreWare Internet Services (standard): By designating the IP address of the DocuCentre 402/352 FS on the Web browser, users can monitor machine status and job status, and set system data from their PCs, which reduces the burden of the system manager.
