Net Print Services for Mobile Users Begins

- Allows users to print anytime, anywhere
at Seven-Eleven Japan stores nationwide
June 9, 2003

Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd., in conjunction with Seven-Eleven Japan Co., Ltd. and DDI Pocket, Inc. have introduced a new printing service at Seven-Eleven Japan stores throughout Japan on June 2, 2003. Users will be able to quickly and simply print documents and contents from almost anywhere, just as if they were still at home or in their office.

Users of DDI Pocket's Air H"*1 simply register with Net Print*2, a service jointly developed and currently operated by Fuji Xerox and Seven-Eleven Japan, at a monthly fee of ¥300, and store the necessary files or documents on the network. It is then possible to print the stored documents anytime from a Fuji Xerox multifunction machine*3 installed at any one of approximately 9,700 Seven-Eleven stores nationwide, at a rate of ¥30 per page.

Furthermore, as part of a promotional campaign, no monthly fee will be charged through the end of September 2003, so users will only have to pay printing costs.

The service was initially developed in response to the growing needs to print documents without fuss from places other than the office. The three companies thus combined their respective services to create this latest offering.

The development of such an advantageous print service has brought society one step closer to a truly ubiquitous network environment, one which has been spurred on by recent advancements in mobile handset technology and communications services.

The new service offers benefits to each of the three initiating companies: Seven-Eleven Japan's customer base will be significantly boosted by providing print services via their extensive nationwide network; by adding value to its Air H", DDI Pocket will further increase customer convenience; and, Fuji Xerox anticipates that requests and use of its Net Print service for mobile users will expand.

The three businesses will utilize their respective competencies to further develop the service, with the objective of providing even higher levels of convenience in the coming years.
