Fuji Xerox's Sustainability Report 2003, which summarizes its social and environmental-related activities in fiscal year 2002, is now available on the Web in both English and Japanese.
The Report covers themes related to the Company's Corporate Social Responsibility, and thus the name of the Report has been changed from the previous Environmental Report that Fuji Xerox released annually since 1999.
The social activities sections covered in the report include Fuji Xerox's corporate management, and features activities that the Company promotes with our customers, employees as well as society. The Report also covers Fuji Xerox's disclosure guideline aiming at greater transparency and fairness.
The environmental activities sections summarize Fuji Xerox's activities in fiscal year 2002, which was the first year for the Company's Action Plan (FY2002 to FY2004) to double the environmental efficiency by 2010 compared to 2000. Fuji Xerox's achievements were recognized in various awards, such as the Energy Conservation Prize as well as the Excellent Energy-Saving Apparatus Prize. Also, under the Resource Recycling System employed for recycling used parts, the Company achieved to decrease new resources input by 2,000 tons, and the machines manufactured incorporating used parts have reached more than 200,000 units as of March 2003.
The report also incorporates a universal design, where graphs and texts used are easier for the visually impaired.
