Fuji Xerox Korea Wins Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy Award
in National Environmental Management Competition 2004

In the National Environmental Management Competition 2004, Fuji Xerox Korea Co., Ltd. received an award from the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy as the best company in environmental management system category. Furthermore, Lee, Sang-Keun, manager, Plant Management Team, Fuji Xerox Korea, won official commendation from the Prime Minister in the individual competition. The award ceremony was held on June 3.

The National Environmental Management Competition recognizes companies and individuals who make a significant contribution to economic development through environmental management activities. This was the first time for the Competition to be held.

Fuji Xerox Korea has had a clear focus on quality and environmental management since its establishment in 1974. The company was highly evaluated for:

1) the manufacturing division acquiring the ISO14001 in 1997, and expanding its environmental management companywide to acquire certification in all non-manufacturing divisions in 2003;

2) conducting environmental management to boost Fuji Xerox's environmental efficiency activities, which include doubling the environmental efficiency in 2020 (from 2000);

3) improving the recycling activities covering machines, consumables and product delivery pallets;

4) conducting various environmental protection activities in cooperation with public organizations.

Lee, Sang-Keun was recognized for his leadership in environmental management since 1996. In addition to promoting ISO14001 certification, he has coordinated environmental management systems in manufacturing as well as promoted activities to improve recycling in Fuji Xerox Korea's Incheon plant. Lee, Sang-Keun was also actively involved in activities related to environmental NPO and Incheon Agenda 21, which was Incheon's activities toward global environmental protection based on the Global Summit in June 1996.
