Fuji Xerox Printing Systems Co., Ltd. (FXPS) has newly developed an A4-size black and white laser printer, the DocuPrint 340A, which is scheduled to ship on August 23 in Japan.

The new DocuPrint 340A is optimized for workgroups where high print volumes are generated, with a print speed of up to 33.8 pages per minute (ppm) and a large paper tray capability of 700 sheets, as standard.

1. High Speed Printing
   High productivity at prints speeds of up to 33.8ppm, 20.8ppm for two-sided prints, and a first print output time of less than 10 seconds.

2. High Capacity Paper Input
   To reduce paper replenishing time, the printer is equipped with a standard paper handling configuration of a 150-sheet multipurpose tray and a 550-sheet input tray, while optional trays can be added for a maximum paper capability of 1,800 sheets.

3. Three Standard Interfaces
   Three standard interfaces (Ethernet 100BASE-TX/10BASE-T, USB2.0 and Parallel) are available.

4. Capabilities for Document Security
   To prevent printouts of confidential documents or tampering with original data in printouts, the DocuPrint 340A can accommodate Fuji Xerox’s “TrustMarkingBasic” software, which produces hidden characters on documents that only show up when copies are made. The following advanced functions for document security are available as well:

   • Security Printing
   • IP Address Restriction

5. Page Description Languages
   Adopts ART EX as the standard page description language, while Adobe® PostScript® 3™ is optionally available.

   - Energy-saving design complies with International Energy Star Program
   - Achieves reduced environmental impact with a low power consumption of 5 watts during sleep mode and Toner Save Mode.
