Fuji Xerox has upgraded the capabilities of the DocuWide 2050 series used in the construction and manufacturing industries with the introduction of the new digital multifunction series that can copy technical drawings, convert them into digital format and handle large-size prints, making the series ideal in the engineering field. The DocuWide 2051MF, a desktop model with copy, scan and plotter functions, the DocuWide 2051EC, exclusively for copying, the DocuWide 2051, which can plot A1 size prints, and the DocuWide 2051MF-RT, a floor-type model, were all released on August 20, 2004.
Previously it was considered difficult to merge and manage CAD data with other technical drawings of different sizes and conduct searches of this data in a quick and efficient manner. Problems with space to save data also existed. Fuji Xerox has combined its document handling software DocuWorks 5.0 with the DocuWide 2051 series to enable the integrated management of technical drawings and documents from throughout Japan in digital format, while also including copying and printing functions. This greatly increases the efficiency in the management of technical drawings. Furthermore, by installing optional software, users can input, manage and output technical drawings and documents as the need arises.
The DocuWide 2051 series can scan A0 documents at the rate of 76mm per second at a resolution of 400dpi. The DocuWide 2051MF / 2051 MF-RT can plot A1 at 5 ppm and also incorporates a copying function. These products are therefore ideal for the engineering field. DocuWide 2051MF / 2051EC / 2051 are equipped with a single roll and manual paper feed options, but users can add a second single roll and A3 and A4 trays for five-way paper loading. The DocuWide 2051MF-RT is equipped with four-way paper loading - manual feed, single roll, A3 tray and A4 tray. In addition to these series, Fuji Xerox has launched the DocuWide 2051EC, specifically for copying, and the DocuWide 2051, specifically for plotting, so users can choose the model that best suits their requirements.
By combining the input and output sections of the machine into one, the DocuWide 2051MF / 2051MF-RT and the DocuWide 2051EC can handle A0 size jobs in a highly compact design. In addition to a copy speed of 5 ppm (A1 short-edge feed), the easy-to-use control panel provides users with quick access to a number of features that include magnification, paper cutting, density control, automatic patch adjustment, print preview and editing.
The DocuWide 2051MF and the DocuWide 2051 plotters incorporate high-speed controllers through the use of the latest CPU, thereby enabling an output speed of 5 ppm at a high resolution of 400 x 400 dpi for CAD and document data at a maximum A1 size. The machines are equipped with RS232C and Ethernet (100Base-TX) interface, while users can add centronix as an option to enable multi-format, multi-interface compatibility.
The scanner function of DocuWide 2051MF can read documents up to 914mm wide and 5m long in 256 shades of grey at a resolution of 400 x 400 dpi. By connecting it with PCs with Windows® 95/98/Me or Windows NT® 4.0/ Windows® 2000/XP, or with SCSI scanners, it is possible to edit data scanned in a TWAIN application. Using this machine in conjunction with DocuWorks 5.0 (sold separately) enables the management of drawings in an electronic database to increase their document management efficiency.
