Highest Rankings in Customer Satisfaction
in Three Out of Four Categories

The J.D. Power Asia Pacific 2004 Japan Copier/Multifunction Product Customer Satisfaction StudySM

Fuji Xerox's copy machines and multifunction machines were ranked top in three out of the four categories based on a customer satisfaction study by J.D. Power Asia Pacific, Inc., a global marketing information firm.

This was the 12th study conducted by J.D. Power Asia Pacific for copy-machines-related products. The survey was based on the 3,886 responses of business users at small to mid-sized offices (ranging from 33-99 people) throughout Japan. It focused on 12 copy machine manufacturers in addition to Fuji Xerox.

The machines were evaluated in four categories: black-and-white multifunction products, black-and-white copy machines, color multifunction products and color copy machines. Customer satisfaction was determined based on sales response, maintenance service and product. On the product side, copy machines were evaluated on performance, operability, trouble and cost (both color and black-and-white models), while multifunction machines were evaluated on copy performance, fax performance, print performance, scan performance, trouble and cost (both color and black-and-white models).

Fuji Xerox ranked highest in both color copy machines and color multifunction machines for the second consecutive year (color copy machines - tied in 2003). In black-and-white multifunction products, Fuji Xerox, Konica Minolta and Ricoh tied for the top spot. The survey revealed that Fuji Xerox performs expecially well in sales and maintenance, providing consistent quality services to customers. In terms of product, the facsimile function was rated top for black-and-white multifunction machines, while in the color multifunction product category, Fuji Xerox far out-rated rival companies in terms of print quality, range of functions and paper compatibility.

Fuji Xerox believes that users' interests are shifting from a focus on product features to overall proposal, support and services that meet individual business style, or to reducing the total lifecycle cost through maintenance and consumable fees. Accordingly, Fuji Xerox intends to continue its bolstering activities aimed at increasing customer satisfaction in these areas.
