Fuji Xerox Launches Six New Color Multifunction
Models
in the ApeosPort/DocuCentre Series

| Fuji Xerox has newly added Fuji Xerox ApeosPort
C4535 I / C3626 I / C2521 I to its ApeosPort series, which
is based on an entirely-new concept. At the same time, it
will launch three new digital color multifunction machines,
DocuCentre C4535 I / C3626 I / C2521 I, on the market. Sales
begin on July 1, 2005. |
| The new concept "Apeos" was announced
in November 2004. Since then, Fuji Xerox has rolled out a
number of devices in the ApeosPort series, which operate as
network "gateways" to an open office environment.
The models set for release this time around to strengthen
the lineup are expected to generate high demand with lickity-split
speeds of 45 ppm/35 ppm (monochrome/color), 36 ppm/26 ppm,
and 25 ppm/21 ppm respectively (A4 long-edge feed). The services-related
functions of the new lineup of the ApeosPort series now provides
solutions to business issues regarding document management
to an even wider range of customers. |
| All six models employ the
contactless IC card "FeliCa" to enable authentication
functionalitynote1. Besides facilitating
a printing environment with enhanced confidentiality through
the private print package, authentication is completed simply
by holding the IC card over the reader. This saves time in
machine and job history management. |

| Other basic functions utilized in both
series include an enhanced version of the highly lauded EA-HG
tonernote2, which creates shiny,
deep vivid colors by improving the reproducibility the of
secondary colors red, blue and green. The automatic duplex
document feedernote3 incorporating
a CVT systemnote4 enables reading
speeds of 50 ppm in monochrome and 35 ppm in color (A4 long-edge
feed), thereby increasing the efficiency of digitizing large
volumes of paper documents. All models are equipped with copy,
printer and scanner functionsnote5.
Meanwhile, documents received by facsimile (optional) or read
by scanner can be automatically sent to a server or PC. |
