of Fuji Xerox of Shenzhen Ltd., Wins 2005 Friendship Award
From China's State Administration of Foreign Experts Affair

| Masaaki Inagaki, managing director of Fuji
Xerox of Shenzhen Ltd.-one of Fuji Xerox's manufacturing sites-has
been nominated by China's State Administration of Foreign
Experts Affair, and authorized by the State Council to be
awarded the 2005 Friendship Award. The award ceremony will
be held from 3 p.m. on September 29, 2005 (China local time)
at Beijing's Great Hall of the People. |
| The annual Friendship Award was established
in 1991 to reward foreign experts in China who have contributed
significantly to China's economic growth, social contribution
or cultural development. This year, the award is being given
to 50 foreign experts throughout the country, including five
Japanese. In the past, there have been eight winners from
Shenzhen city, and Inagaki is the first Japanese to win from
Shenzhen. |
| Inagaki is highly evaluated for growing
Fuji Xerox of Shenzhen's business since being appointed managing
director in 2001, doubling its revenue in two years. Under
Inagaki's leadership, the company has also been active in
promoting recycling, achieving zero waste, and winning certification
as an environment friendly corporation by the State Environmental
Protection Administration of China in June. Inagaki also acts
as vice chairman of Shenzhen Association of Enterprises with
Foreign Investment as well as chairman of the Japanese Chamber
of Industry and Commerce in the city (joined by 336 companies
/ unofficial organization to date), and contributed not only
to economic development, but also to activities rooted to
China, including planting trees for greening as well as promoting
scholarship programs. |
| "This award is not only an honor for
me, but also for all Japanese-funded companies based in Shenzhen,"
Inagaki said. "The award will encourage me to act as
a model for all Japanese companies in the city and do more
work to promote Sino-Japanese friendship in the future."
