(English Version)

Includes outline of stakeholders' meeting with Oji Paper Co., Ltd. and several NPOs
October 27, 2005

Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. has released the English version of its Sustainability Report 2005, which summarizes its corporate activities in FY2004 aimed at contributing to the realization of a sustainable society. The printed version comprises 52 A4 pages while the Web version comprises nearly 250 pages (A4-size).

Similar to last year, the Report goes beyond merely conveying details of the activities and reporting data to include a focus on the Company's vision and stance. It covers a range of themes, including top management commitment by President Toshio Arima, five key highlights of corporate activities compiled from a third party perspective, and a section on management and performance, which outlines results.

The five highlights covered in the Report are as follows:
Highlight 1: Corporate Value: Documents for Management
Amid the rising need for corporate accountability, Fuji Xerox promotes initiatives to ensure greater management transparency and guarantee its own existence. At the same time, the Company is developing a services business that leverages its know-how amassed in the process.
Highlight 2: Natural Resource Depletion: Resource Depletion Has No National Boundaries
Having shifted production operations to China and other parts of Asia, Fuji Xerox is implementing measures to tackle the problem of natural resource depletion in those areas. In December 2004, the Company commenced a global resources recycling system for the Asia-Pacific region. The recycling base for the system was built in Thailand, with operations getting underway in December 2004.
Highlight 3: Natural Resource Depletion: Ensuring Continued Paper Use Long Into the Future
The Report covers a conference held to discuss thoughts on material procurement for paper and Fuji Xerox's procurement regulations, as covered in last year's report. Participants at the meeting included various Fuji Xerox stakeholders: the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Japan (an environmental NPO); Oji Paper Co., Ltd. (a paper manufacturer); and the Green Purchasing Network (GPN), an NPO that formulated guidelines on green procurement
Highlight 4: Relationships With Employees: Healthy Employees Drive Corporate Vitality
For a company to achieve wholesome foundations, its employees must first of all be healthy. The idea for Fuji Xerox's unique companywide medical consultation system was born from a single doctor. The aims, results and challenges of the system are outlined in the Report from an interview with HR staff as well as an industrial doctor.
Highlight 5: Relationships With Society: An Individual's Strong Social Ties Help Them Grow as a Person
The Report introduces the direction and aims of Fuji Xerox's social contribution activities; included are narratives from employees that participated in the 2005 Special Olympics World Winter Games in February 2005.

This year's Report also incorporates a Web version to complement the printed version in order to boost the amount of information available. The printed version has been produced in Japanese, English and ChineseNote 1. The Web version is compiled in both Japanese and English. The purpose is to deepen understanding of the company's activities to as wide an audience as possible.

Further, the Web version includes various navigation tools such as a report map, guideline reconcilement (GRI/Ministry of the Environment) so that the necessary information can be found easily. Each page has a sound browser so that the visually challenged can also enjoy the contents.

Both the printed and Web versions have received third-party assurance by ChuoAoyama Sustainability Certification Co., Ltd. concerning management and performance in the environmental reporting section.
