Fuji Xerox Launches Network-Compatible DocuStation
3000 AS
for Certificate Issuance at Local Governments
February 28, 2006
| Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. has developed DocuStation
3000 AS, a network-compatible system for Japanese municipalities
that increases efficiency in issuing official certificates
such as a certificate of a person's family registry and a
certificate of residence. Sales begin on March 20, 2006. |
| Along with the trend toward e-government
administration, municipalities have started to provide effective
certificate issuance services by standardizing the format
of formal documents, digitizing them and utilizing networks.
However, many certificates related to a person's family registry
are still paper-based, formatted differently in many sizes,
and it has been a time-consuming task to edit and issue an
abstract of one's family registry. |
|
| DocuStation 3000 AS is compatible with
networks inside government offices and is useful in achieving
effective issuance services for various paper-based certificates.
By utilizing these internal networks and connecting the systems
installed at each main government office and branch office,
it is possible to send and receive application forms and certificates
between venues. An automatic editing function automatically
recognizes various paper sizes and adjusts columns to make
sure the certificates are issued quickly. |
|
| The system is equipped with a variety of
other features to guarantee information security, including
a document falsification prevention function, a certificate
issuance history management function, an encoded communication
function, and others. Issuing certified copies of a person's
family registry is now much easier with DocuStation, which
helps to enhance services to the local community through the
realization of e-municipality. |
|
| The system is based on the
latest digital multifunction device technology and incorporates
copy, fax, network print and scan functions. It makes basic
office operations more efficient by integrating printers and
reducing paper via Internet fax. |
|
| The lineup consists of three
models: DocuStation 3000 AS-1, which can edit and issue certificates;
DocuStation 3000 AS-1 D, which is equipped with an automaticduplex
document feeder; and DocuStation 3000 AS-2, which incorporates
a validation device for stamping certificates sent by fax
from the aforementioned two models. |
|
| Further, a validation deviceNote
can be added to DocuStation 3000 AS-1 and DocuStation 3000
AS-1 D as an option, while it is possible to edit and issue
certificates. The optimum system can therefore be created
in accordance with municipal operations. |
|
| Note |
This device automatically
applies a red validation stamp to a certificate upon printing,
whether the certificate has been edited by the system itself
or sent from another system. |
