Fuji Xerox Constructs New Integrated R&D Site at “Minato Mirai 21” in Yokohama City
Invests Approx. 60 Billion Yen to Restructure Domestic R&D Functions and
Concentrate Them at Two Sites in Yokohama and Ebina
| TOKYO, October 24, 2006 - Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. will acquire Section 65 at “Minato Mirai 21” in Yokohama City, Kanagawa, with the view to strengthen its R&D capabilities. |
| As part of its efforts to reform development and production, Fuji Xerox transferred production operations, particularly the assembly lines of the Ebina Center, primarily to Shanghai and Shenzhen in November 2004. Following this, Fuji Xerox will construct new R&D sites to increase efficiency of R&D, reinforce organizational collaboration and boost the integrated strength of technology. |
| By doing so, Fuji Xerox plans to concentrate existing R&D sites to Yokohama and Ebina. The R&D functions will be integrated mainly at Yokohama in a step-wise manner. Ebina will be positioned as a key production site, especially in terms of production technology. Accordingly, all R&D functions will be integrated at Yokohama and Ebina. |
