Easy Digital Photo Printing Through The Internet at More Than 11,000 Stores in Japan

TOKYO, December 25, 2006 – Microsoft Corporation, Seven-Eleven Japan Co., Ltd. and Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. have jointly announced the launch of a new service called “Seven-Eleven Storefront Printing Service”, an online digital photo printing service at Seven-Eleven stores utilizing the Internet, on the same day that Microsoft will release the next-generation Windows® operating system, Microsoft® Windows VistaTM, which is January 30, 2007. “Seven-Eleven Storefront Printing Service” will be supported as a standard function of Windows Vista.

The features of “Seven-Eleven Storefront Printing Service” are as follows:
  1. Users can register their photos on the Web and receive a print reservation number, which can also be sent to friends, family members and colleagues throughout Japan, so that they can print the same photos using multi-use copy machines installed at more than 11,000 Seven-Eleven stores in Japan.
  2. Users do not have to enter personal information such as name, address or phone number when ordering, because it is a self-printing service at Seven-Eleven stores.
Note: e-mail address is required to receive the print reservation number.
  3. Users pay for the photos in cash at Seven-Eleven stores, eliminating the need for credit cards.

The multi-use copy machines installed at Seven-Eleven stores in Japan are Fuji Xerox’s color multifunction devices. They offer services such as color copying, fax transmission, digital photo printing and ticket purchasing, as well as Net Print Service, which enables digital contents printing through the Internet. With the integration with Windows Vista, the digital photo printing service via multi-use copy machines will be easier and more convenient by placing ordering through the Internet, while giving users more options such as sending photos to friends, family and colleagues throughout Japan.
