Fuji Xerox Launches Able 1407 λ Series,
A2-Size Capable Digital Multifunction Devices
Equipped With Intranet-Capable Fax Function
to Reduce Transmission Cost and
8.5-Inch Large LCD for High Level Visibility
| TOKYO, November 12, 2007 – Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. will begin sales of three modelsNote1 of the Able 1407 λ (Lambda) series, A2-capable digital multifunction devices, on December 20, 2007. |
| In addition to accommodating A2-size paper, the Able 1407 λ series incorporates two-color (red and black) copy and printer functionsNote2, a network scanner functionNote2, as well as a facsimile functionNote3. The machines achieve a copy speed of 40ppm (A4 long-edge feed), enabling to output not only large A2-size drawings but also office documents. |
| Other features include a new IP-Fax function that enables fax transmission using the intranet, such as in-house LAN rather than an ordinary public line, which reduces transmission costs. |
| An 8.5-inch large liquid crystal display (LCD) with high visibility employed for the devices’ control panel allows users to display scanned image of drawings as thumbnails or previews and to enlarge them. Thus, users can check scanned images and image quality on a control panel, which would boost efficiency as well as increase accuracy in digitization of documents. |
| The machines also retain the security features of their predecessor. When printing from a computer, users can embed text in the paper such as “copying prohibited”, which will be shown if the original is copied. This helps prevent unauthorized copying and information leaks. |
