Fuji Xerox has launched three cut-sheet laser printers for core printing needs as well as open network environments. Each model prints faster than 100 ppm - DocuPrint 180 EPS: 180 ppm (A4); DocuPrint 155 EPS: 154 ppm (A4); and DocuPrint 115 EPS: 115 ppm (A4). Sales of the printers will begin at the end of December 2002. DocuPrint 180 EPS is the world's fastest laser printer with cut-sheet capabilities*.

The printers are the first of their kind compatible with the industry-standard PDL, PostScript®3TM. The highly versatile printers can also handle a wide range of systems - from mainframes to UNIX servers and PCs. The use of 100Base-TX protocol ensures that the printers can cope with changes in infrastructure, while reducing the load on the system in high-volume data transfer.

Other features:
  • Incorporates Sun Microsystems's industry standard controller. High-speed management of large data is realized by 450MHz parallel processing CPU, 512MB (128MB x 4) memory, and 72GB (36GB x 2) hard disc.
  • To ensure optimum user-friendliness, the printers employ Graphics User Interface (GUI), eliminating the need to input time-consuming commands. Basic operations, including print status, output instructions and changing the paper feeder can be handled with the mouse.
  • High speed paper feedings to handle high-volume jobs. To boost productivity levels, it is possible to connect various finishing options to the printers. By attaching a roll paper feeder and binder, the printers can run unattended for long periods of time.

To increase the value of the high-capacitance, high-speed printers in open networks, Fuji Xerox will aggressively promote the use of the printers with a variety of quality, industry-approved middleware systems. Concurrent with the release of these three printers, Fuji Xerox received permission to use Fujitsu's Systemwalker Enabled, a software tool associated with the company's Systemwalker.

Systemwalker is a highly integrated software solution that supports the foundations of a company's Internet business, with superior functions including system, network, performance, asset, job and security management, plus electronic form capabilities. Using Systemwalker with the world's fastest printer, DocuPrint 180 EPS, Fuji Xerox is able to offer extremely dependable, large-volume, high-speed print management solutions. Fujitsu's market-leading Systemwalker and Fuji Xerox's high-speed printer series, which is recognized as top in the production and printer industries, combine to guarantee a high level of user satisfaction.
