| Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. will commence sales
of the high-speed, high-resolution full-color print-on-demand
(POD) system, Xerox iGen3® 110 Digital Production Press, on
June 7. |
| The new system is an upgraded version of
the original Xerox iGen3® Digital Production Press released
in June 2004, which boasts blazing speeds of 100 ppm (A4 long-edge
feed). It caters primarily to customers specializing in digital
printing and information processing. Since its release in
the domestic market last year, Xerox iGen3® has earned high
praise for its top-class image quality rivaling offset presses
thanks to the electrophotographic technology. In addition,
its outstanding print productivity and close customer support
prior and subsequent to installation have been well received
by the market. |
| The system was the first of its kind to
achieve full-color for large volumes of invoices and statements,
which have traditionally been produced in black and white
in the data printing market. It also realizes one-to-one marketing
by providing information tailored to individual customers
based on rich customer information analysis. As a result,
interest in the system has been growing steadily, especially
in the credit card industry. |
| This capability heralds the start of a
new market integrating the commercial printing and data printing
markets. The rapid rise in demand for one-to-one communication
in full-color is expected to drive a new level of print volume
in the digital printing market, which has already started
to manifest huge growth. |
| Fuji Xerox launched the digital publishing
system, DocuTech® Production Publisher Model 135, in October
1993, and has led the color and black and white POD industries
ever since with pioneering systems that consistently boast
the highest speed and image quality owing to a dry electrostatic
transfer system. |
| Fuji Xerox has also built up sturdy foundations
in the data printing market for over a quarter of a century
since 1980 when it began providing equipment and solutions
to handle large-scale centralized processing at information
processing centers, particularly for the information systems
departments of large corporations. |
| Based on proven results and accumulated
experience, Fuji Xerox has positioned itself as the leader
in the digital printing and data printing markets. Similarly,
Fuji Xerox is once again the pioneer in the new POD and production
printing markets, providing outstanding new value for customers.
|
| The Company will continue to promote its
business in cooperation with Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd., a
longstanding partner in sales development in the printing
industry, and Fujifilm Graphic Systems Co., Ltd., a group
company engaged in sales in the printing industry. |
