Fuji Xerox Launches DocuWide 3030 Series A0-size capable digital multifunction devices with network scanning function

| Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. has developed a series
of digital multifunction devices capable of A0-size output
for the engineering market. The DocuWide series comprises
three models: the DocuWide 3030MF digital multifunction device
that can effectively produce copies of technical drawings,
digitize paper drawings and handle a wide spectrum of print
jobs all in one machine; the DocuWide 3030EC stand-alone copy
machine; and the DocuWide 3030 stand-alone printer. Sales
begin on September 16. |
| At the frontline of management of engineering
drawings in manufacturing, construction as well as facility
operations in government and public offices, integrating digital
CAD data and different sized paper drawings often leads to
difficulties in speedy searches and viewings well as increased
storage space. Fuji Xerox aims to increase efficiency in the
overall management of drawings by combining its document handling
software DocuWorks 6.0 with the DocuWide 3030 series. This
will enable digitization and integrated management of drawings
and technical documents to complement conventional copying
and drawing output processes. |
| The DocuWide 3030 series is equipped with
a scanner functionNote 1 that can read A0-sized documents
at a speed of 76.2mm per second with a resolution of 600dpi.
It also includes a print functionNote 2 that can output three
A0-sized sheets per minute, as well as a copy function. The
series is also equipped with an improved network scanner functionNote 1incorporated in the DocuWide 6050/6030 seriesNote 3 released
in 2002. Data scanned via the network can be imported to a
PC using either Wide Format Scan Service or the Wide Format
Network TWAIN Source, thus boosting the total efficiency of
drawing digitization and the integrated management of documents.

| The DocuWide 3030 series has been developed with a globally common platform in terms of operability, quality and environmental consciousness. Apart from the Japanese market, Fuji Xerox plans to roll out the series in the Asia-Pacific region then worldwide through Xerox Corporation based of the United States. |
