Fuji Xerox Launches an Energy-Saving

| TOKYO, November 7, 2007 – Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. has developed the compact and lightweight DocuPrint C1100, an A4-capable color laser printer with enhanced energy-saving performance, ideal for shared use in small offices or as a desktop device. Sales begin on November 8, 2007. |
| The DocuPrint C1100 incorporated a device to suppress power consumption in its drive circuit of the engine, which resulted in reduction of the power consumption to less than five watts in power-saving mode. With regard to figures for Typical Electricity Consumption (TEC)Note 1 – criterion adopted by the Energy Conservation Center, Japan in its International ENERGY STAR program measuring standard power consumption in a week– the DocuPrint C1100 achieves 1.2 kilowatt-hour, approximately 50 percent down compared with the DocuPrint C525 ANote 2, representing a leap in energy-saving performance. |
| In addition, with a new tandem engine that shortened a paper transport path, the DocuPrint C1100 realizes a first print outputNote 3 of less than 12 seconds in color and less than nine seconds in monochrome. While enabling print speeds of 12ppm in colorNote 4 and 16ppm in monochromeNote 4, the price of a standard unit is 79,800 yen (tax exclusive), thereby facilitating the switch from monochrome devices. |
| As the device's new engine does not use an intermediate belt transfer, it is possible to employ a compact toner cartridge, thereby cutting its size by roughly 11 percent relative to the DocuPrint C525 ANote 2. Further, although a large portion of the frame is traditionally composed of metal, Fuji Xerox has used a light, resilient plastic to reduce overall weight to 17 kilogramsNote 5, down around 40 percent. This makes it ideal as a desktop device and easy to move when changing an office layout. |
