December 4, 2007 – Targeting the mission-critical mass printing market, Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. has developed Fuji Xerox 650J continuous Feed Printing System, a continuous feed printer with monochrome print speed of 600ppmNote 1 and output resolution of 600dpi. Sales will begin on December 6, 2007.
The 650J Continuous Feed Printing System is the fastest monochrome continuous feed printer for mission-critical operations in Fuji Xerox’s entire product lineup. With its fast and stable operation capacity, it is geared to prolonged, mass printing, contributing to higher productivity.
As for the print data format, in addition to the Line Conditioned Data Stream (LCDS) print data format generated by the mainframes of different manufacturers, the printing system also achieves direct printing of Adobe Systems' PostScript® 3TM and PDF Ver.1.6 documents, which are widely used. This realizes print from various systems including mainframes and servers, and will flexibly support customers’ output environment.
The 650J Continuous Feed Printing System has employed the flash fixing method that fixes toner using the heat generated by the emission of a Xenon lamp. Unlike the heat roll fixing method, it fixes toner without contacting paper, which reduces the effects of the paper surface roughness or the thickness, enabling to print on a wide variety of paper, from ordinary to specialty paper. The flash fixing method also suppresses paper shrinkage from the heat during fixing, reducing an impact on the post-printing process such as enclosing in envelopes and sealing.
The 650J Continuous Feed Printing System mainly targets the finance market—in-house printing at banks and security companies—as well as the rapidly developing print outsourcing market. It serves for wide variety of printing applications; from notices to customers, such as invoices, payment slips, detailed statement and concealed information postcards, to in-house computer outputs.
Note 1
Conversion with A4 cut sheet. The system prints 600 two-up A4 pages per minute, using the web width of 18”. The web speed is 91 meters per minute. |
