Fuji Xerox Launches 22 Digital Multifunction
Devices Equipped With
Common Controller Software
Allows Users to Transmit Information via a Network
Regardless of Their Locations

TOKYO, October 28, 2008 – Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. will launch a total of 22 digital multifunction devices for offices on November 27, 2008 – 12 full-color ApeosPort-III C and DocuCentre-III C series models, and 10 monochrome ApeosPort-III and DocuCentre-III series models. |

All 22 models are equipped with the latest common controller software, thereby enabling the same level of security as well as a management environment with uniform authentication and tabulation among a mixture of multifunction devices even with different functions. |

|
Awareness of internal controls has been rising recently in line with the enactment of legislation including the Financial Instruments and Exchange Law (J-SOX), which has driven further need to digitize business documents such as estimates and contracts, which have been traditionally in paper format. |

This new range of multifunction devices allows users to import paper documents as digital data to their PC through simple operation regardless where they are working. |
|
|
For example, materials used in a meeting on other floor or at other buildingNote 1 can be scanned in a secure environment on a nearest multifunction device to be sent to a PC. Dispensed with complex settings, users can easily retrieve capacious color dataNote 2 without putting any burden on networks or mail servers. Electronic data that is too heavy to attach to an email can be sent as well. |

This can be achieved by the combination of scanning and email functions of a multifunction device, which enables users to email the information of where the scanned data is stored to their PC using the authentication function. The scanned document can be retrieved simply by clicking on the URL of the storage location that has been sent to the PCNote 3 . In addition, the document can be saved on a server as shared data with high retrievability since the machines handle OCR processingNote 4 as well as thumbnail creation when scanning. |

These efforts promote further digitization throughout the office and contribute to greater utilization of electronic documents while maintaining the same level of security in all models as well as a uniform authentication environment. |
